Carolinas Wrestling TV #3

Year 1, Week 3
WYFF Television Studio, Greenville SC

* * * * *

"Hi, wrestling fans and welcome to Carolinas Wrestling!  Bob Caudle here with David Crockett and before we move on to the the action this week, we have some footage to look at from earlier this week at the Asheville Civic Center.  Please be aware, this is a little hard to watch."

Footage of the Jerry Brisco vs Ox Baker match plays, including the Heart Punch, security escorting Baker to locker room to protect him from the fans, and medics tending to and carrying Brisco out on a stretcher.

David Crockett speaks as we return, "Bob, we've gotten word that Jerry Brisco has not been released by doctors and is still in the hospital.  He was stable and able to be transported, but right now, that's where we are at.  Brisco is on the injured list for at least the next couple of months."

Bob speaks up, "We'll get you updates as we get them, fans.  And we know that matchmaker Ole Anderson is here this week and we'll hear from him.  We've got an exciting week ahead, fans, with The Masked Superstar against Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy in our main event, so let's head up to the ring."

Opening Contest
The Heartland defeat Jake Milliman & Mister X when Les Thatcher pins Jake Milliman with a sunset flip in 1:26

Ox Baker comes out to the podium and demands Bob Caudle come up to interview him.  Baker holds up his right fist, wrapped in tape, "Look at this, Caudle.  This right hand has run The Patriot out of the Carolinas.  This right hand dropped Blackjack Mulligan like a sack of potatoes.  This right hand hospitalized Jerry Brisco.  And this right hand will make me the Carolinas Heavyweight Champion.  Tully Blanchard!  The next heart punch is yours!"  Baker laughes and walks away, confident that he's the next Carolinas Champ.

Heavyweight Attraction
Blackjack Mulligan submits Kenny Jay with the Blackjack Claw in 1:52

Blackjack Mulligan steps over to the podium to speak to David Crockett.  Just as he starts to speak, upset about Ox Baker's words earlier, Tully Blanchard and J.J. Dillon interrupt and Blanchard is practically screaming.  "OLE!  OLE ANDERSON!  I will NOT defend this Carolinas Championship against a madman like Ox Baker.  I demand you get out here.  Baker isn't wrestler, he's a lunatic!  He's bent on hurting anyone he can when the name on the marquee is wrestling.  ANDERSON!"

Blackjack is visibly shaking in anger toward Blanchard's conduct, but matchmaker Ole Anderson comes out and calms Mulligan down.  Mulligan leaves, under protest, and Anderson speaks up.  "Let's make this clear first, Blanchard.  You don't demand a damn thing from me.  Remember that.  Now, that said, I agree with you.  Ox Baker has made it clear that competition is not his goal.  Hospitalizing people is.  So, I'm stripping Baker of his title shot."

Blanchard is thrilled at this news, but Anderson continues, "I don't know why you're so happy, Blanchard.  In two weeks, you've got to defend that title.  And I've decided that this coming week, in Columbia, South Carolina, a 10-man battle royal will decide your challenger."

Dillon and Blanchard are upset at the news, protesting that they've got only a week to prepare.  Anderson doesn't care, declaring "Cost to be the Champ, Champ" as we go to break

When we come back from break, Tammy Lynn Sytch has her team, The Heavenly Bodies, at the podium with Bob Caudle.  "Take a look, Bob Caudle.  If my old classmates at Wellesley could see me right now, surrounded by two of the finest specimens in the sport today.  "The Doctor of Desire" Tom Prichard and "The Suicide Blond" Chris Candido, The Heavenly Bodies.  So much better than that stick in the mud Les Thatcher and his student Nigel McGuinness, and certainly better than those dirty, nasty Freebirds!  Terry Gordy and Brad Armstrong, you got lucky in Asheville and everyone knows it.  But, the Carolinas Tag Team Title Tournament is coming around sooner rather than later and mark my words, The Bodies are going to be your Carolinas Tag Team Champions and right now, they'll show you why. Get 'em boys!"

Tag Team Feature
The Heavenly Bodies (with Tammy Lynn Sytch) defeat S.D. Jones & George South when Tom Prichard pins South after the enzuigiri in 5:50

Ox Baker blows right past The Bodies on his way to the podium and he's hot.  David Crockett holds the mic for the irate Baker, "I'll make this simple.  Ole Anderson, you get out here and give me the title shot I earned, fair and square, or I give a heart punch to everything I see with a pulse.  And maybe I'll start with Mr. Crockett here."

Crockett starts to protest when Baker grabs him by the lapel, but out comes matchmaker Ole Anderson, "Ox Baker!  You let him go right now.  Now, I told you when you laid up The Patriot that if you put anyone else on the shelf with the heart punch that there'd be hell to pay and I meant every word of it.  Right now, Jerry Brisco is laying in a hospital bed because of you and the only thing between you and unemployment was a phone call begging me not to fire you.  You've made a lot of enemies, Ox.  So, you will have a match in Columbia this week, but not for the title.  My decision to strip you of your title shot stands and, if you lay a hand on anybody outside of a match, no amount of begging will keep you in CWC.  No, I've called in a favor for Columbia, Ox.  You'll have a fight on your hands and you can make bank on it."  We go to commercial as Anderson leaves and Baker follows, demanding to know who he's facing later in the week.

The Mid-Atlantic Theme plays as the voice of Dr. Tom Miller hypes us up for this week's big event, "See the stars of Championship Wrestling Carolinas this week at Township Auditorium in Columbia, South Carolina!  By order of matchmaker Ole Anderson, Ox Baker goes one-on-one with a mystery opponent of Anderson's choosing.  Malia Hosaka & Princess Victoria take on Beverly Shade & Leilani Kai.  And a 10-man Battle Royal will decide the next challenger to the Carolinas Heavyweight Title, with Blackjack Mulligan, Sam Houston, Brian Christopher, The Masked Superstar, Tom Prichard, and Les Thatcher all among the entrants.  There's this and a whole lot more coming to the Township Auditorium in Columbia this week from Championship Wrestling Carolinas!  Opening bell is at 8pm, doors open at 7 and tickets are available at the box office and all TicketMaster locations.  The CWC is coming to Gamecock country... don't miss it!"
