Power Hour #3

 Year 1, Week 3
Landmark Arena, Cornelia GA

* * * * *

"Hi, everyone, and welcome the Georgia Wrestling Evolution!  This is the Power Hour!  I'm Tony Schiavone alongside John "The Body" Johnson and we've got a great week of action coming your way.  In our big main event, Austin Theory takes on Luke Hawx in a Georgia Grand Prix qualifier match.  The winner goes A.J. Styles and Larry Zbyszko in the Grand Prix to crown the first Georgia Heavyweight Champion."

J.J. frantically waves off Tony, "Shut up, Schiavone!  The important news is that the uncrowned tag team champions, Chip Day and Murder-1, Kraken, have been barred from the studio this week all because they choose to speak out about being robbed and our esteemed matchmaker Bill Behrens didn't like what they had to say."

Schiavone looks incredulously at J.J., "There's more to it than that.  I'm sure we'll get into that this week.  But, right now, let's go up to Freddie Miller to introduce our opening contest."

(see GWE Live #2 for Kraken's attack on the tag team division)

Opening Contest
The WorkHorsemen defeat Mister X & George South when Anthon Henry submits X with a Dragon Sleeper in 7:09
✮ 1/2

The WorkHorsemen approach the podium and Tony Schiavone asks about the attack by Kraken in Royston.  Henry just shakes his head, "Unfinished business, Mr. Schiavone.  That's what we've got.  Unfinished business with C&C Wrestle Factory.  Unfinished business with the Rock & Roll Express.  As far as Kraken is concerned, it's a legit beef they've got, but if I were you Chip Day and Murder-1, don't try sending any more messages at our expense."

Before Henry can continue, another man approaches the podium, "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart.  "Anthony Henry!  J.D. Drake!  Baby, you looked good out there.  Real good.  You've got all the tools, but just need the man behind the scenes, baby, and that could be me.  Keep it up, keep impressing me, and you might be the charter members of the First Family here in GWE.  And that means sky's the limit, baby!"  We go to break as The WorkHorsemen nod at each other and Jimmy Hart walks away smiling.

SQUASH

Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson join Tony Schiavone at the podium.  Tony asks about the ongoing situation with Kraken and Ricky responds, "Tony Schiavone, Robert and I have never been hard to find.  Murder-1 and Chip Day, if you stepped up like men and challenged us, you'd have gotten a shot at these Georgia Titles.  But now, you're attacking any tag team that you think is in line.  Bill Behrens made the match for this week in Augusta.  Chip Day, you and me, one-on-one.  Robert's staying away from ringside.  Chip Day, let's see if you leave Murder-1 in the locker room.  Here's your chance to prove if you and Murder-1 are men or cowards."  Tony tosses to break as the Rock & Roll leave.

We come back from break and C&C Wrestle Factory, Caprice "Ice" Coleman & Cedric Alexander are at the podium with Schiavone.  Kraken seems to be the topic of the day and one Coleman is willing to discuss, "Mr. Schiavone!  Kraken has come at us not once, but twice now.  The WorkHorsemen talk about unfinished business.  Well, all of our business is unfinished and business is boomin'!  Chip Day and Murder-1 have their hands full with the Rock & Roll, but we'll be watching.  But, Anthony Henry and J.D. Drake, have an empty dance card."

At that, Jimmy Hart comes down for the second time this week, "Caprice, Cedric, I've gotta tell ya', baby, I keep my eyes open all the time.  I see a lot of potential in the two of you.  Young, strong, athletic, a team with a lot of promise.  Promise that could be fulfilled as charter members of the First Family.  Now, now, I know.  You saw me out here earlier with The WorkHorsemen.  But, this is scouting, baby.  And only a blind man would say your future ain't bright.  Makes me glad I got shades.  Now, I'm gonna stay right here and watch this match you are about to have against a couple of tough journeymen and I think I'll like what I see."

The C&C just shake heads and head to the ring as Jimmy Hart looks on excited.

Tag Team Feature
C&C Wrestle Factory defeat Kenny Jay & Bill White when Caprice Coleman pins White after a running high knee in 4:09
SQUASH

Jimmy Hart likes what he sees and says as much to Schiavone & J.J. as we go to break.

When we come back from break, John Johnson is in the ring, "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Body Shop!  This week, my guest isn't just a star, but a SUPERstar!  He has travelled the globe in search of gold and his next stop is right here is Georgia Wrestling Evolution.  It is my honor to introduce to you, my close, personal, longtime friend, and the man who may well be the next Georgia Heavyweight Champion, "The International Superstar" Jimmy Rave!"

"Parade of the Charioteers" plays as Jimmy Rave, dressed in a fine suit, makes his way to the ring.  J.J. extends his hand, but Jimmy brings him in for a hug before proceeding, "J.J., we go back a long time.  Longer than most people know.  So you know better than most, when I want something, I take it!  A.J. Styles, a pale imitation of Jimmy Rave.  Larry Zbyszko, a legend, but not a superstar.  Austin Theory, Luke Hawx, the new and the old and neither one on my level.  Matt Sydal, a rebirth of a career that dies quicker than it returned next week when he faces me.  Gentlemen, you are all tremendous athletes, but you aren't Jimmy Rave and that means, you aren't the next Georgia Heavyweight Champion!"

The sounds of "Hot Girls in Love" play as Freddie Miller's voice comes through, "Georgia Wrestling Evolution comes to Augusta!  See the stars of GWE in action at the James Brown Arena for a night of action and excitement!  C&C Wrestle Factory take on The WorkHorsemen!  A.J. Styles teams up with Suge D to face off against C.W. Anderson & Larry Zbyszko in a tag team spectacular!  And in the main event, "Do or Die" Chip Day goes one-on-one with Georgia Tag Team Champion Ricky Morton!  All this and more as GWE comes to the James Brown Arena in Augusta this week!  Special 7pm bell time, doors open at 6.  Tickets are available at the box office and all TicketMaster locations.  GWE comes to Augusta, don't miss it!"
