SAKAI & VAINE - THE RIVALRY IS ON!

A week ago, Sumie Sakai was left bloodied by Krissy Vaine's hand mirror.  This week?  Sakai picked up the close win over Vaine via a moonsault, but that was only the beginning.  As soon as Sakai's hand was raised, Silver Six finalist Amber O'Neal hit the ring and jumped Sakai from behind.  Vaine soon recovered and the beatdown was on.  Officials rushed the ring just as Vaine & O'Neal planted Sakai with a double reverse STO.  Refs order Vaine & O'Neal away while Sakai is checked on by ringside medics.  As they leave, Vaine yells out, "That's Blondage, baby!"

THEORY THROWS A FIT IN DEFEAT

We await the announcement of the next stage of the Georgia Heavyweight Title tournament, but all four semifinalists were in action in Valdosta.  Only one walked away with a loss.  Not just a loss, but getting pinned.  Austin Theory fell to A.J. Styles and the Fosbury Flop.  When the match ended, Jimmy Hart checked on his team, The WorkHorsemen, and led them out of the ring while Theory started to rage, getting in the ref's face.  He left the ring, screaming at the timekeeper, announcer Freddie Miller, and ringside fans before security escorted him to the back.  Momentum is not on Theory's side.

THE MOONDOGS WIN - THE FREEBIRDS IMPRESS

Sir Oliver Humperdink did exactly what he said he would, lead The Moondogs to the Carolinas Tag Team Championship.  But, they weren't the talk of the town when the smoke cleared.  Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy and "Badstreet" Brad Armstrong, The Fabulous Freebirds, wrestled five times, over an hour in total, and battled back through the loser's bracket to make to the finals and very nearly toppled the better rested Moondogs.  Any fans that doubted The Freebirds left Charleston as believers, but the House of Humperdink seems less than pleased with the 'Birds getting all the attention.

"A DYNASTY IS BORN!"

Those were the words shouted to the rafters of the Mid-South Coliseum by none other than James E. Cornette when his team of Bobby Eaton and Koko Ware topped The Memphis Mafia, Sputnik Monroe and Tommy Gilbert, in the finals of the Tennessee Tag Title Tournament.  While his team was no doubt impressive, Cornette was a factor in both the semifinal match against The Fabulous Ones and in the finals.  It remains to be seen what Matchmaker Eddie Marlin will say about Cornette's involvement, but neither the Fabs, nor the Mafia are happy to say the least.
