Year 1, Week 6
WYFF Television Studio, Greenville SC
* * * * *
Highlights from the Carolinas Tag Team Championship tournament in Charleston start us off, including the debut of the Rock & Soul Express, Marty Jannetty and 2 Cold Scorpio; the incredibly impressive performance of the Fabulous Freebirds; and the crowning of The Moondogs as the first Carolinas Tag Team Champions. This fades into the studio crowd cheering as we head to the announce podium.
"Hi, wrestling fans, and welcome to Carolinas Wrestling! Bob Caudle along with David Crockett here for another great week of action. We've got the Rock & Soul Express in action this week. The Masked Superstar is here. And in our big main event, we have an eliminator match as we get ready to crown our Carolinas Women's Champion with Leilani Kai taking on Malia Hosaka! We've got that and more the week, so let's get to..."
"Crockett's Theme" from Miami Vice begins to blare across the studio speakers and out come the Carolinas Tag Team Champions, The Moondogs, with a less than pleased Sir Oliver Humperdink and approach the podium.
"Such a wonderful opening to such a fine program and no mention of your new Tag Team Champions? As promised. As predicted. The Moondogs are the Carolinas Tag Team Champions. But, Mr. Caudle, Mr. Crockett, are my men on the talk of the sport? No. Are my men on the front page of the sports section in all the papers? No. Who is? The. Fabulous. Fauxbirds. Terry Gordy and Brad Armstrong. Why? Because they wrestled five matches in one night and couldn't do what my men did in three? Take notice! The Moondogs are the Carolinas Tag Team Champions. Give them their due or they'll take it, whether you like it or not. Observe and find the medics, because these two gentlemen in the ring about to soil themselves will not be walking out of this studio."
The Moondogs hit the ring and immediately go after the Mulkey Brothers.
Non-Title Match
Carolinas Tag Team Champions The Moondogs (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) defeat The Mulkey Brothers when Moondog Rex pins Bill Mulkey after the Moondog Drop in 4:58
✮
✮
Under Humperdink's instruction, The Moondogs just punish and beatdown The Mulkey Brothers. The bell rings and Referee Earl Hebner tries to restore order, but to no avail. Before more damage can be done, The Freebirds hit the ring with chairs in hand! Humperdink calls off his men as everyone checks on The Mulkey Brothers and we go to commercial.
Bob Caudle is standing at the podium with the Carolinas Womens Championship belt sitting in front of him as he welcomes Princess Victoria. The crowd cheers as "Train, Train" plays and Princess Victoria makes her way out. Caudle asks about the Women's Championship Eliminators and what she thinks her chances are.
"Mr. Caudle, this belt right here... it means so much to me. The opportunity to compete for it, to even be considered, is huge to me. I've been know in my career as a tag team wrestler. But, this is where I have the chance to show I'm so much more. I've got my hands full next week when I face Beverly Shade, but I know with these people behind me... I'll find myself completing for this belt sooner rather than later."
Caudle thanks Victoria as we head to the ring for our next match.
Heavyweight Attraction
The Masked Superstar submits George South with the Cobra Hold in 4:46
✮
✮
As The Masked Superstar is announced as the winner, we go to the podium where Bob Caudle is standing by with the former Carolinas Heavyweight Champion Tully Blanchard and J.J. Dillon. Blanchard noticeably winces at the word former. Dillon does the talking.
"Bob Caudle, a lot of people have speculated that we would come out here with a loop hole, an allegation, something to diminish what Blackjack Mulligan did. No. Blackjack Mulligan is the Carolinas Heavyweight Champion. He beat Tully Blanchard. I know, Tully, I know it stings, but it's true. But, what I want to know, and I'm talking directly at Blackjack Mulligan now, do you think you beat the Tully Blanchard? Do you think you beat the best Tully Blanchard? You didn't. We prepared for any of ten possible opponents, not one in particular. When Tully Blanchard is focused on one person, he's the best there is. So, Champ, can you beat that Tully Blanchard? I don't think so. So, let's find out. You'll be hearing from us soon."
A defiant Blanchard and Dillon leave as we head to the ring.

The crowd cheers as Jannetty and 2 Cold Scorpio join Bob Caudle at the podium. Caudle welcomes them to Carolinas Wrestling and Jannetty answers.
"Thank you, Bob Caudle. I gotta tell you, 2 Cold and I haven't been together long and it feels like we've been together all our lives. And now, we're here in the Carolinas because this is where the best tag teams in the sport compete. We feel like we can be the very best in the sport and if this is where the best are, then this is where we prove ourselves."
Caudle thanks The Rock & Soul Express and we go to commercial.
We cut to an interview set where Dr. Tom Miller is standing by, "Ladies and gentlemen, the stars of Championship Wrestling Carolinas are coming to the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, North Carolina this Wednesday night for a big night of wrestling action. Bell time is 7pm, doors open at 6:30, and tickets are available at the box office and all Ticketmaster locations. We'll see tag team action with The Heavenly Bodies taking on The Rock & Soul Express. Ox Baker will face off with Sam Houston. A pair of ladies debut as Shayna Baszler takes on Dr. Britt Baker. And in our big main event, the Carolinas Tag Team Champions The Moondogs will team with Tully Blanchard to take on these men, The Fabulous Freebirds and the Carolinas Heavyweight Champion Blackjack Mulligan!"
Mulligan and The Freebirds step in and Armstrong speaks up first, "Humperdink's all upset because the people are talking about The Freebirds. Well Sir Ollie, prepare to be miserable, because they always talk about The 'Birds." Gordy steps up to speak, "I'm telling you, Dr. Tom, there's gonna be a fight in Fayetteville! Moondogs, I'll call you Champs for short, but not for long. We're comin' for the belts. And, big Blackjack, we couldn't be happier than to have you watchin' our back." Blackjack Mulligan smiles and adjusts the Carolinas Heavyweight belt, "Blackjack AND The 'Birds? Lordy me, these men are in trouble! J.J. says I didn't beat the Tully Blanchard. Is there more than one?! The world can't cope with that. And Moondogs... Tully... you can't cope with us Wednesday night in Fayetteville."
Dr. Tom Miller runs down the card one more time, then we head back to the studio.
